Get ready to wave your flags, don your red, white, and blue, and celebrate the Fourth of July with a bang! Our local communities in Apex, Cary, and Morrisville are pulling out all the stops to make this Independence Day one to remember. Whether you're looking for fireworks, parades, live music, or family-friendly activities, there's something for everyone. Check out the exciting events happening in your area!


July 3, 2024

Hunter Street Park, 1250 Ambergate Station
5 - 10 pm

Kick off July 4th celebrations with a spectacular fireworks display! This year's event offers food trucks and activities along Hunter Street from Salem Street to Mason Street / Laura Duncan Road. 

This year's event features:

  • Food Trucks including A Taste of the Bayou, D & J Concessions, Golden K Dog, Hot Chix Hotcakes & Chicken, Mr. A’s Beignets, Peach Cobbler Factory, Stick Happens
  • Kids Zone with inflatables and games

Schedule of Events

  • 5:00 pm – 9:15 pm: Food trucks and fun
  • 9:30 pm (tentatively, based on weather conditions): Fireworks show begins  

Know Before You Go: 

  • View the downtown parking map for walkable parking locations.
  • Road Closure Information:
    • From 12:00 pm to 10:30 pm: Ambergate Station will be closed to vehicle traffic
    • From 3:00 pm to 10:30 pm: Hunter Street from Salem Street to Mason Street / Laura Duncan Road will be closed to vehicle traffic
  • Hunter Street Park will close at 12:00 pm. This closure includes the skate park, dog park, and fields.
  • From 3:00 pm to 10:30 pm, Town Hall Campus will only be accessible from the Mason Street entrance. 
  • Accessible parking will be available at Town Hall Campus, with the closest parking at Town Hall (73 Hunter Street).
  • Beginning after 5 pm: Spectators can set up chairs along Ambergate Station (outside of the fireworks safety perimeter), at the Hunter Street Park soccer field, and along Hunter Street between Salem Street and Mason Street.
  • Neighborhoods in the immediate area and throughout Apex may see the display and/or hear fireworks as they explode. Please plan accordingly if a member of your household is impacted by bright lights or loud noises.
  • Make sure to observe all parking rules so that everyone can have safe access to homes and buildings in the event area. Street parking must allow for passage of emergency vehicles. Parking is NOT allowed within: Travel lanes of the roadway, 15 feet of a private driveway, 15 feet of a crosswalk, 25 feet of an intersection of two roads, 30 feet of a stop sign or stop light.
  • No pets, alcohol, smoking, tents, or personal or commercial fireworks / sparklers are allowed at this event.
  • Chairs for the public will NOT be provided as part of this event.
  • Town staff may be on site during the festival taking photos/video of festival events and attendees.

Enjoy a Triangle tradition! Join us for a salute to the red, white, and blue as we honor the birthday of the U.S.A. with the music of the North Carolina Symphony. Enjoy patriotic favorites, high-spirited classics, fun activities for kids and a dazzling firework display over Symphony Lake.

General Admission lawn is FREE and does not require a ticket. A limited number of Reserved Table Seats (with parking) are available.

NOTE: Purchasing a table will offer a view of the performances but does not guarantee a clear view of the fireworks. Fireworks may be obstructed by the tree canopy, the stage, or other structures.

Morrisville

You don't have to wait until July 4 to celebrate Independence Day in Morrisville! Join us for Red, White & BOOM, featuring live entertainment, food trucks, and family friendly games. We'll end the celebration with a gorgeous fireworks show! Fireworks will start at dark. Be sure to bring chairs or blankets to sit on the lawn to enjoy the fireworks.  Stay tuned for event details in the coming weeks!

Parking

There will be no general event parking on site. Event attendees are directed to park from designated off-site parking locations at 808 and 909 Aviation Pkwy. Shuttles will be running continuously from both locations for the event. The only on-site parking will be accessibility parking. The Crabtree Creek Greenway will remain open during the event.

Carnival Games & Inflatables  

Tickets can be purchased for carnival games and inflatables via cash or card. Tickets will be $1 per ticket, or $20 for 25 tickets. Ticket sales will end at 7:30 p.m. There are no refunds for ticket purchases. 

Food and Drink

Food Trucks: 

Bruster's Ice Cream, Larger than Lemons, Kona Ice, Soul's Kitchen, Party in a Pita, Hollywood Taco Shop, Flavor Junction, Sunset Slush, 716ers, Curry in a Hurry, SameO DameO, and Sweet Southern Snowballs

Water Stations: 

Water stations will be setup at the event, but please bring a water bottle with you to fill up at the stations.
