We are looking for an Assistant Publisher to work closely with the Publisher of Macaroni Kid Cary•Apex•Holly Springs!
If you love Macaroni Kid and would be interested in helping us grow, reach more local families and provide more useful services, information and events, this may be the job for you!
This is a position for entrepreneurial spirits only since compensation will depend on local sponsors and ad sales.
There are many perks including tickets for local family friendly events, the opportunity to write articles, the ability to work from home, and a very flexible schedule!
The Assistant Publisher will help to:
•Research and enter local events
•Maintain Social Media accounts
•Design ads
•Help plan local events
•Occasionally attend festivals/fairs as a Mac Kid representative
•Coordinate seasonal directories and articles
•Research and write articles on local events, destinations and ideas for families
•Help plan and maintain the editorial calendar
•Research and contact local sponsors as needed
•Assist Publisher with other marketing needs
The Assistant Publisher should have the following skills and experience:
•Great writing and administrative skills
•Familiarity with social media, including Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest & Instagram, if possible
•A creative, problem-solving, and detail-oriented attitude with the ability to think outside the box
•Good understanding of small business marketing and/or sales, media, and PR.
•General business experience
•Very comfortable with MS Office
•Entrepreneurial and enthusiastic
•Available to work part-time from home on a consistent, weekly basis
•A love for sharing information with moms and connecting our community
